Water Gap, located in Monroe County in North Eastern Pennsylvania. Is
as the name implies, the Gap is a natural wonder carved by the Delaware
River over thousands of years draining a large lake once covering the

There is a main street commercial area loosely based round Rt 611 (the old river route from Philadelphia to Scranton) and many small streets off to both the east and west of Rt 611. You'll find small shops and convenience stores in town. Delaware Water Gap has a bus stop that has commuter buses to New York City.

Area, which is used primarily for recreational purposes, such as rafting,
canoeing, swimming, fishing, hiking and rock climbing. With a fishing
license, one can fish in the Delaware for carp, shad and other fish. Visited
by over 2,000,000 people each year this is the 2nd most popular National
Park in the USA. The Delaware Water Gap National Park is both to the north and south of town. The Appalachian Trail passes close to town nd you will often see hikers walking the streets. Tourist have been coming to the river overlooks for over 200 years for the view of the Natural Wonder of the Gap in the mountains carved by the Delaware River.
Each
year in September, the Delaware Water Gap Celebration of the Arts Festival
takes place. The festival showcases world-renowned jazz artists, sculptors,
and painters that live in or around the town. In addition to the festival, the town is home to the Deerhead Inn the country's oldest continuously operated Jazz showcase nightclub. World renown artists like Phil Woods, Johnny Coates, (Mr Green Jeans, at one time lived nearby) and others call the town home.
